Mayor Jenks proclaims National FFA Week in Rolla




Rolla Mayor Bill Jenks, III met with officers of the Future Farmers of America (FFA) Rolla Chapter at Rolla City Hall on Feb. 21 to sign a “National FFA Week – Feb. 19-26, 2012” proclamation. Mayor Jenks individually congratulated and thanked the student officers for their efforts and accomplishments in the Rolla FFA Chapter.

The FFA Rolla Chapter consists of 220 members who attend a variety of FFA classes taught by Cord Jenkins and Tom Strain at Rolla Technical Institute. The Rolla Chapter was founded in 1928, and has grown substantially over the years in popularity and attendance. The FFA motto is: “Learning to do, doing to learn, earning to live, living to serve.” FFA promotes citizenship, volunteerism, patriotism and cooperation. It also promotes premier leadership, personal growth and career success among its members.
