Mayor Jenks supports
American Red Cross month
Rolla
Mayor Bill Jenks, III met with staff members of the American Red Cross Heart of
Missouri Chapter on March 18 to proclaim the month of March 2013 “American Red
Cross Month” in Rolla. (Pictured with Mayor Jenks at Rolla City Hall are (l to

Director, American Red Cross, Heart of Missouri.)
During fiscal year 2012, the Heart of Missouri
Chapter responded to 174 disasters in the 21 Mid-Missouri counties. Mid-Missouri turns to the Heart of
Missouri Chapter for many of the things that make this area stronger and safer.
For instance, nearly half of our critical blood supply is collected by the Red
Cross. Last year numerous blood donors chose the Red Cross as the place to donate
the gift of life. More than 11,000 people also turned to the Red Cross to learn
life-saving skills such as first aid and CPR. Last year, the Red Cross Chapter also
provided services with 404 calls from current military personnel, veterans and
their families.
In celebrating American Red Cross Month, we
are celebrating the humanitarian and volunteer spirit here in Mid-Missouri and
all across America.
