‘Go Green’ for the holidays…
recycle boxes, paper
After the dust has settled and you have a pile of boxes and wrapping paper remaining, don’t throw away the boxes and paper…recycle it!  The Rolla Recycling Center accepts most types of wrapping paper and boxes!
Recycle your boxes and paper in your blue bin at the curb on your scheduled day, or bring it by the Recycling Center anytime. When dropping wrapping paper at the Recycling Center, it should be place in the mixed paper bin. Foil wrap, ribbons, Styrofoam, and other materials should be removed from wrapping and boxes before recycling. Those items should be disposed of in your trash.
For more information please call the Recycling Center at 364-6693.

Environmental Services
offers specially marked trash
bags for holidays
Throughout the holiday season the City of Rolla Environmental Services Department offers specially marked, extra-large plastic bags for those times when you have more trash than will fit into your trash container.
These bags should be placed on the ground next to your trash container for collection on your normal collection day. The bags sell for $1 each and can be purchased at the Rolla Recycling Center located at 2141 Old St. James Road or at the Finance Department at Rolla City Hall (located at 901 North Elm Street).
Another way to avoid trash overflow is to recycle.  A 20-gallon recycling bin can be provided for weekly collection of recyclables at no additional cost. For more information, please contact the Environmental Services Department at 364-6693.
