chair of Transportation
Committee at MRPC
John Petersen, Director of Community Development for the City of Rolla, was recently elected as the Chairman of the Transportation Advisory Committee at the Meramec Regional Planning Commission (MRPC).
Petersen, who has served on the Transportation Advisory Committee for several years, representing Phelps County, said he’s delighted to have the opportunity to serve as chairman.
“I think there are a lot of important transportation issues that will impact our region that the committee will have responsibility for advancing,” Petersen said.
The Transportation Advisory Committee is responsible for the development of the State Transportation Improvement Plan (STIP) for the entire MRPC region, which in turn is used by the Missouri Department of Transportation to guide transportation investment.
