Law Enforcement Torch Run to benefit Special Olympians
As many of us make plans for the Memorial Day weekend, Rolla Police Officers along with officers from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Phelps County Sheriff’s Office, Missouri S&T and several surrounding police agencies, are preparing to run in the 28th Annual Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run on Tuesday, May 28.
This year the torch run starts at the Sullivan Wal-Mart parking lot at 9 a.m., and ends in a gala celebration with all the runners arriving at the Rolla Kohls parking lot (220 N. Bishop) at approximately 1:30 p.m.
Food will be available for purchase and entertainment provided by Travel Tunes DJ service starting at 12:30 p.m.
“We invite the entire community to join us in a gala celebration as we cheer on the runners and show them how much we support and appreciate their efforts,” said Sgt. Vince Giacolone, who is coordinating the event with Lt. Steve Davis, a member of the Troup I State Highway Patrol.
For more information, please contact Sgt. Giacolone at 308-1213.
