JEFFERSON CITY - The Missouri Highways and Transportation
Commission awarded a contract for improvements to Route V in Phelps
County at its April 2 meeting in Jefferson City.
Lamke Trenching and Excavating, Inc. of Marthasville, Mo. was awarded a
contract to add five turn lanes to the Route V interchange at Interstate 44, as
well as install new signals at the interchange to better handle the increased
traffic flow. The low bid submitted for the work was $477,877.
"These improvements will make the interchange function and flow much
better and make travel in the area safer," said Missouri Department of
Transportation Area Engineer Preston Kramer.
The project is funded through a cost-share agreement between MoDOT and the City
of Rolla. The work is scheduled to be completed this summer. For more information about this project or other transportation-related
