Evening with Nature set for March 20 at Rolla Middle School

The Meramec Hills Chapter of the Missouri Master Naturalists will host “Evening with Nature” on Tuesday, March 20 from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Rolla Middle School. The event is free to exhibitors and the public.
Nature-related organizations have planned over 30 exhibits and interactive activities for children, parents, and anyone curious about Missouri’s outdoors. Featured entertainment for the evening will be two live raptor shows from the World Bird Sanctuary at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Participants will have a chance to build a bird feeder or bluebird house, get a free tree, try nature journaling, and learn about native bees, primitive outdoor skills, tree identification, stream ecology, tying flies, mammal skull identification, mammal furs, rocks and minerals, snakes, and much more. Venture Scout Troop Crew 84, Missouri Conservation Fisheries, Missouri Forest Keepers, Missouri Bee Keepers, Missouri Stream Team, Bray Conservation Area, Onondaga Cave State Park, and Bear River Ranch are among the many organizations setting up displays.
Come and experience the thrill of live raptors soaring above your head, get up close with live snakes, learn how to survive in the wilderness, build something “for the birds,” or just get to know our natural resources. Your starting place will be the gym at Rolla Middle School, but who knows? You might just find a new passion for our outdoor world!
