Mayor Jenks recognizes
contributions of long-time
City employees
Rolla Mayor Bill Jenks, III, together with the Rolla City Council, recognized and thanked several long-time City employees for the many years of service they gave to the City and Rolla community at the City Council meeting held Feb. 6, 2012 at Rolla City Hall.  During a presentation of certificates of appreciation, Mayor Jenks emphasized the tremendous service these employees provided to our community, including their professionalism, determination, loyalty, and expertise.
Together, the retiring City employees served the City and Rolla community for over 222 years. Rolla City Hall to close
Feb. 20 for
Presidents’ Day  
Rolla City Hall will be closed on Monday, Feb. 20 in observance of Presidents’ Day. The Rolla City Council meeting, ordinarily held the first and third Monday of the month, will be held Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Rolla City Hall (901 North Elm Street).
The Environmental Services Department will also be closed on Monday, Feb. 20 in observance of Presidents’ Day. The department will be picking up Monday’s trash on Tuesday, Feb. 21 and Tuesday’s trash will be picked up on Wednesday. There will be no special pickups on Wednesday, Feb. 22.

Rolla City Council
Mtg. set for Feb. 21
The next Rolla City Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Rolla City Hall, 901 N. Elm Street. 
Rolla City Council meetings are ordinarily held the first and third Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. except when there is a conflict with an observed holiday.  To review a copy of the City Council agendas or the full agenda packet, please visit http://www.rollacity.org/admin/agenda.shtm. Rolla Junior Club
to hold dodgeball tourney
to benefit Larry May Park
The Rolla Junior Club will hold a fundraiser dodgeball tournament to benefit Larry May Park on Saturday, Feb. 25 beginning at 11 a.m. at The Centre, 1200 N. Holloway St. in Rolla.
The tournament, which is open to the public, will consist of 8-person, co-ed teams with a maximum of four males per team. There will be a 3-game minimum guaranteed and the entry fee is $120 per team. To register, please stop by The Centre (1200 N. Holloway St.), or call 573-341-2386. The deadline for registration is Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 12-noon.
All tournament proceeds will go towards improvements at Larry May Park which is a current project of the RJC. Larry May Park is a small park located within the Ber Juan Softball Complex across from Forum Cinemas on 18th Street. The RJC has spent time cleaning up the park and had a rededication this past spring. The Rolla Junior Club’s goal is to raise enough funds for all new playground structures.

set for March 10
at The Centre
